- This thesis reports that 31 F.7 students in an intact class conducted by the author were allocated into a control group and an experimental group that received instruction based on Toulmin model of argument and Tirkkonen-Condit's argumentative structure. Findings reveal that the experimental students felt empowered in their reading and writing skills and that, among them, students with lower English proficiency improved significantly after the instruction.
