ILN (Interactive Learning Network) 是為促進互動學習而設計的一個網絡系統。教師和學生均可利用這個系統，作為教與學的溝通媒介。這系統亦旨在培養學生的自學精神，透過上載在系統內的學習資源，學生可在任何時間、任何地方，享受學習的興趣。 本論文共分兩個部分。第一部份主要探討一下ILN的特色，以及使用ILN作為語文學習的教學時的優點和限制。第二部分是通過問卷調查，探討香港準教師對ILN的認識和意見，希望藉此讓教師或學生對使用ILN作教學或學時，提供一個參考。

This paper reports the experimentation of constructivist teaching in an in-service teacher education program for training curriculum leaders of primary schools. The following features were identified as to guide the delivery based on constructivism: sequence and continuity; part-to-whole connectedness; individual and group based activities, contextualization, authenticity; and application. Data was gathered from questionnaire and interview; it was further triangulated by student evaluation feedback of the program. The result has brought about development of teachers on various domains including professional, intellectual, collegial, social and emotional. The learning process triggers a spectrum of cognitive functioning on learners. The study ends up with a model of constructivist learning that can guide curriculum development of educational programs; it also addresses some problems about learning.

In 2007, the Hong Kong government announced that tertiary institutions receiving central funding would be required to incorporate outcomes-based learning in their curricula. The policy was presented as part of a raft of measures to introduce creativity and innovation into the traditional approaches to teaching and learning, that have been described as producing “a somewhat sterile curriculum that emphasized propositional knowledge and avoided awkward questions”(Adamson & Li, 2004, p.59). The Hong Kong government wishes the education system to be in line with what it perceives to be state-of-the-art practices internationally. However, the history and culture of Hong Kong has endowed the local system with its own distinctive characteristics that, as previous efforts to graft foreign curricular initiatives on to the Hong Kong education system have shown, need to be taken into account. The move to require institutions to incorporate outcomes-based was greeted by concerns that the outcomes-based approach was too "Western" (i.e. progressive) for educational values systems prevalent in Hong Kong and, at best, institutions would only pay lip-service to the reform. (Interestingly, a contrasting concern was that outcomes-based learning—which is already falling out of favour in Australia, where it originated, and in other Western systems--would actually have the opposite effect to the intended goal of rejuvenating the curriculum, as it would tend to reinforce rigidity in curriculum design, reducing student choice and flexibility to design their own learning pathways.) At the heart of the matter is the issue of effective international knowledge transfer. This paper reviews Hong Kong’s very mixed experiences of international knowledge transfer in education, and proposes a pragmatic framework for curriculum design that takes into account and negotiates political, social and pedagogical forces at the local and international level. Life history is regarded as a significant source of information for the comprehension of teacher development and identity. This study examines the biography of a migrant teacher from China to Hong Kong. The narrative biographical study explores how the subjective reality and the historical factors mingle with the evolving background of the teacher’s professional life. Major sources of influence include communist education, family education, suffering in political upheavals and early teacher professional experience. The problems she encountered in the local schools after migrating were found attributing to the incompatible practices and cognition acquired in China. This study provides evidence of how teachers develop on the basis of their biography. Practical insights for teacher education and in-service teacher training can be drawn from this study.

This study aims at investigating the effectiveness of the establishment of the school based curriculum development teams as a response to the challenges of the school performance and student learning. A theoretical framework is derived from the various assumptions about school leadership, patterns of dissemination and teacher development. This framework will then be used to evaluate the extent that school based curriculum development teams contribute to teacher development and school improvement. The findings will shed light on the necessary conditions for successful implementation of school based curriculum development in a policy context of decentralizing curriculum decision making. Two case schools from two different socio-cultural milieu, Hong Kong and the Netherlands, are chosen for comparison. A mixed method approach of investigation is adopted and methods include interviews of teachers and students, analysis of video taped meetings and questionnaires.
