文章以黃顯華等（1993）所提出的各個「課程要素」這一架構，例如目標、教材、教法、評估等，分析50年代以後發表的中學中國語文科課程綱要的內容。文章分為四部分。第一部分是對近數10年來中文課的課程頒布和性質作一個簡單的回顧。第二部分是縱的處理，按發表時間的先後對每一綱要作出分析。第三部分是橫的處理，目的是探討每一課程要素的發展情況。最後對進一步研究的課題作出建議。（梁振威整理）
