- In this paper, the author outlines the background and rationales of curriculum changes in Hong Kong. The primary Art and Craft syllabus is then used as the focus of a case study to obtain feedbacks about the new syllabus from art educators. The author also discusses the implications for teacher education of such curriculum reform in art education in Hong Kong, and concludes that, despite the many obstacles in the process of curriculum reform, it is optimistic that, through the joint efforts of all art educators concerned, the quality of art education can be improved.
