This volume is a compilation of case studies of different countries, highlighting issues of civic education of the respective locality. The studies are the first phase of the Civic Education Study conducted by the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement. A common set of framing questions was used as basis to collect information about the circumstances, contents, and processes of civic education in that country. The views of experts of what 14 years old should know about political and civic issues are also portrayed.
