漢語師資培育課程設置「現代漢語」科是建基於漢語教師須具備漢語知識才能有效教授學生學習漢語的理念。筆者於2012年進行了「國際漢語教師元語言知識運用的個案研究」，分析受試者（修讀香港教育學院「國際漢語教學文學碩士課程」中「現代漢語」科的學生）在實習期間的教學實錄和反思紀錄，了解受試者能否有意識運用語言知識來教學，即探討「教師漢語元語言意識」的發展和所產生的作用。結果顯示現代漢語知識達中等水平的準教師在教學過程中運用漢語知識的意識不強。筆者因此反思漢語師資培育課程中「現代漢語」科的教學取向，於2012-2013年增加了「漢語知識在漢語教學上的運用」的小組專題報告和個人教學實習反思報告，以加強發展學生（準教師）的漢語元語言意識，提高他們運用漢語知識來加強教學成效的能力。本論文綜合分析30名學生（準教師）「現代漢語」科的學習成果，進一步探討純漢語知識學習和「教師漢語元語言意識」發展的關係，以及檢討師資培育課程中「現代漢語」科的教學策略運用。This article reflected on the traditional belief of the direct relationship between language knowledge learnt by the language teaches and their ability to teach language in the classroom. The notion of development of Teacher Metalinguistic Awareness, (hereby referred to as TMA), was discussed in the article. TMA was regarded as an important factor contributing to effective language teaching (Andrews, 1997; 1999; 2001; 2003; 2006; 2007). Assessment result of 30 students (pre-service teachers) of the Modern Chinese Course was thoroughly analyzed. The teaching strategy used in the Course was revisited based on the analysis of the assessment result. This finding would shed light on the continuous action research on the development of Teacher Metalinguistic Awareness through the teaching of Modern Chinese of a CSL Teacher Education Programme. 本文旨在探討實習教師在香港新高中課程改革的路途上，如何就新課程的學科發展、學生背景和學科教學知識，建構他們的新知識，及所面對的挑戰。研究發現實習教師在建構新課程的教學知識過程中有很多疑慮，這些疑慮，主要來自新課程的學科知識變化所帶來的不確定感，學生的多元背景和課堂教學的挑戰，以及來自學校與社會的文化氛圍所帶來的影響，研究結果有助當局對課程發展的檢視，並教師教育的發展。

筆者任教於香港教育學院「國際漢語教學文學碩士課程」的「漢語知識」學科多年，一直思考著師資培育課程的本科學習與一般綜合大學課程的本科學習是否有差異。筆者贊同教育學者就師資培育研究所提出的「學科教學知識」理念，認為師資培訓課程中的本科學習，要同時注重「學科教學知識」的建構。在語言師資教育範疇，也有研究指出，「語言教師元語言能力」的重要性。「學科教學知識」是師資培訓的宏觀理念，「語言教師元語言能力」則針對語言教學而言，兩者都強調師資培訓課程的本科學習與純學科學習不同。本文綜合筆者三個學期的教學探索，通過學生（準教師）的學習成果分析，討論漢語師資培育課程中「漢語知識」學習的意義和取向。

通識教育科在新高中課程是四個核心科目之一，教師專業發展被視為推行該課程的重要因素。這文章嘗試探討與通識科教師專業發展相關的議題。雖然通識科教師對課程實施有不同的關注，但該科肯定為教師提供機會發揮教師專業能力。這文章對通識科教師的專業知識結構加以檢視，並且把它分成課程知識、學科教學知識和實踐性知識三個類別。另外，通識教育科教師的專業發展有培訓課程、實踐平台和教師網絡多種途徑。
Liberal Studies will be one of the four core subjects in the new senior secondary (NSS) curriculum. Teacher professional development is regarded as an important factor in implementing this subject. This paper is to explore the issues related to the professional development of Liberal Studies teachers. Although the implementation of Liberal Studies stimulates different teachers' concerns, it surely provides teachers with opportunities to demonstrate their competence. The structure of professional knowledge of Liberal Studies teachers is examined in this paper and can be categorized as curriculum knowledge, pedagogical content knowledge and practical knowledge. In addition, professional development courses, practice and teacher network are the possible ways for the continuous professional development.
