- 作者的研究主要在探討篇章結搆類型對篇章主題理解的效應。兩套篇章分別依據戴雲理論中之概類法則和建造法則編製而成。每篇分兩部分,一為文意脈胳,一為總結陳述。篇章長度亦分長短,短度篇章是刪去文意脈胳中最後一句而製成。受試者先閱讀文意脈胳,然後判斷總結陳述部分是否正確綜合文意脈胳所描述的,總共有76名中三學生參與該計劃。就反應速度結果而言,短度文章明顯比長度篇章需時較長。這現象純因受試者需在短篇章裡多作推敲所致。就閱讀理解理解表現而言,篇章結構類型和篇章長度皆未能產生顯著效應。作者指出,這項發現與以前研究篇章結構和篇章記憶關係所得結果並不相符。這相異結果可能是理解篇章主題和記憶篇章主題兩者所需的認知策略有所不同所使然。(何文勝整理)
