作者論述20世紀50年代以來的中文科教學發展：50年代中文教學「文、道」並重，60年代開始淡化「道」的成份；70年代語文、文學分科教學，語文強調工具性；90年代開設文化科再次把中文教學納入文化思想的常軌。作者認為21世紀的中文教學不應再有文道不合一的現象。（何文勝整理）
