學校透過體育課培養同學對運動的興趣，同時組織多元化的運動課外活動，並建立體育運動的文化，使體育活動在校內得以普及，令同學養成運動的習慣。由於學校及家長皆重視學生的學業成績，故在校內推動體育運動有一定困難；然而，如學校能令同學透過參與體育運動改善品德及學會分配時間，同時又不受影響學業成績的話，家長亦樂意讓子女多參與體育活動。
This paper discusses and interprets the historical development of school physical education in Hong Kong. It aims to review its development, and evaluate and postulate its value and contributions to the development of students and society. The paper also outlines its development from simple physical training to a systemic, theoretical, accredited, and scientific academic discipline; from the past, to the present, and into the future.

If schools cultivate students' interest in sports through physical education lessons, organise a variety of extracurricular activities, and develop the culture of sports in order to make sports popular on campuses, then eventually students will form the habit of doing sports. Both schools and parents emphasise students' academic results; therefore, it is quite difficult to promote sports in schools. However, if we can enhance students' morals and attitudes, and improve their time-management skills through sports participation, without affecting their academic performance, then parents will be willing to let their children take part in sports.

本文探討貧窮與教育的關係，指出改善學校教育可以消減跨代貧窮。要打破「出身、教育及成就」的連鎖效應，就必須消減學校對貧窮學生所造成的負面影響。除政府的扶貧教育政策外，訪談資料顯示，老師也是一個非常重要的因素。本文建議老師注重提升學生的學業自尊感，對所有學生都應寄以合理的期望，才能積極地消減因貧窮而引致的教育成效不均問題。
This article discusses the relationship between poverty and education. Improved schooling can combat intergenerational poverty. In order to break through the chain effect of "social background-education achievement," schools must minimize any further disadvantages for students who are already socially disadvantaged. Alongside the role the government's education policy plays in tackling poverty, the findings show that teachers also play an important role. This article recommends that teachers pay more attention to raising students' academic self-esteem and to holding appropriate expectations of all students so as to effectively tackle the unequal educational results caused by poverty.

提升本港學生對中文寫作的興趣及創意，向來是各教育工作者十分關注的課題。本文嘗試從一些學習動機理論出發，再結合本校近年推行的「十分鐘寫作計劃」的一點經驗分享，冀能拋磚引玉，以探求中文老師們如何培養學生的寫作興趣及啟發他們的創意。
Raising interest and creativity in Chinese writing has long been a major concern among educationalists. By looking at some learning motivation theories and also examining the "Ten-Minute Writing Scheme" which has been implemented in our school over the last few years, this paper attempts to arouse the concern of teachers on ways of motivating and enhancing students' interest and creativity in writing.

回歸前後的香港，在政治上經歷了很多變化。這些政治上的變化不期然地也影響了香港的公民教育的發展。本文嘗試比較回歸前後香港公民教育的發展及其政治變遷的相互關係，尤其側重介紹回歸以後香港公民教育的狀況，包括課程發展、學校實施公民教育的情況、香港學生的公民觀、香港人對公民身份認同的變化，並以社會資本角度的反思作結。本文得出的結論是香港市民對香港是有歸屬感的，但不太有安全感；他們會參與社會的網路組織，有一定的社會參與，但限於傳統性的公民活動（例如選舉）和社會性的活動，較少參與政治性的公民活動；同時，他們也存在一種公民無力感，尤其是政治無力感。
Hong Kong has experienced substantial changes in its political circumstances before and after the handover. These political changes have had much impact on the development of civic education. This paper attempts to compare the development of civic education in Hong Kong before and after the handover, with a particular focus on the impact of changing political circumstances. Another focus of the paper is on the situations of civic education since its handover. This includes a review of the development of the civic education curricula, the implementation of civic education in school, student's concepts of citizenship, changes of civic identity among Hong Kong people, and the paper is concluded with a review from social capital perspectives. The paper concludes with an observation that Hong Kong people have a sense of belonging, but not much sense of security. They participate in social networks, but focus on conventional citizenship activities (such as voting) and socially oriented activities, rather than politically oriented activities. Socially, they feel they make some contributions to the society, but politically they also feel powerless.

法治精神是文明社會的重要基石。香港、澳門和內地雖然各具不同社會背景和法律制度，但法律普及教育工作對三地未來法治精神的延續與傳承均十分重要。本文透過由香港青年協會進行的「穗港澳三地大學生法治意識比較研究」，從中了解並分析三地大學生的有關認知和態度。此外，文中亦嘗試就研究結果，提出未來三地法律普及教育發展的重要考慮方向。
The rule of law is the foundation of our civilized society. Although the social backgrounds and legal systems of Hong Kong, Macao, and mainland China differ greatly from one another, the promotion of legal education is highly significant to the continuity and inheritance of the rule of law. This article investigates and analyzes knowledge and attitudes of the awareness of rule of law among university students in Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macao through a comparative study carried out by The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups. Derived from the research results, this article suggests some considerations regarding the development of promoting legal education in the three regions concerned.

本文將回顧並分析亞洲地區及香港青少年網絡成癮的趨勢、各地處理青少年網絡成癮的介入方法，及導致青少年網絡成癮的危機因素；亦會探討預防青少年網絡成癮教育工作的重要性，並就此服務提出一些建議。
Youth Internet addiction has become a common problem among youth in Hong Kong. The authors explore Asian countries' strategies for handling youth Internet addiction and its contributing factors. They advocate preventive education as the most essential element to prevent youth Internet addiction.

本論文就家長的參與和支持，包括出席音樂會、聆聽音樂、在家中觀看音樂節目和整體財政支持等進行研究，亦調查學生在家長參與和支持其器樂學習上的觀感。於2007年10月至11月期間，本研究以自行填寫問卷方式，收集了香港10所中學共1,493位中一至中七學生意見的數據，發現家長對學生音樂活動的參與和支持總體屬低水平，家長的參與僅流於財政上支持。這裡值得關注的，是如何使學生和家長對音樂產生興趣並感到雀躍，從而一起參與音樂活動。
This paper examines various aspects of parental involvement in and support for musical participation, including concert attendance, music listening, watching music programmes at home, and overall financial support. It also examines students' perceptions of parental involvement in, and support for, their instrument learning. Data are drawn from self-completed questionnaires administered in school from October to November 2007 to 1,493 Secondary 1 to Secondary 7 students attending a total of 10 Hong Kong secondary schools. The survey finds low overall levels of parental involvement in and support of students' musical participation, with students reporting that financial assistance from their parents accounts for the majority of parental involvement. The results suggest it is important to determine how to make both students and parents interested in and excited about music, and how to get them to enjoy participating in music together.

本論文旨在探討自尊感對成績稍遜學生的重要性。在提升學生的自尊感方面，主要集中在其自信心，個人形象及目標方向的三個層面。透過學期初的自尊感超越營活動和學期間的工作坊與及班主任課節活動，促使同學在自尊感方面提升。研究發現同學在其學習方面受正面影響，學生對活動的認受性亦十分高，尤以超越營對他們的感受至深。本研究建議面對成績一直欠佳、信心不足、形象欠積極及沒有清晰目標的同學，在提升他們的學業前宜先提升其自尊感。最後，本文亦對提升自尊感的活動模式作出一些建議。
The aim of this study is to investigate the importance of self-esteem upon academic low achievers. In raising the self-esteem of the students, three major aspects are considered. They are: self-confidence, self-image and personal goal. The "Self-esteem" Super Camp, Workshops and Form-master periods are organized to build up the self-esteem of the students. Results of the study indicate that there is a positive effect on the academic aspect of the students. Moreover, the activities have a great impact upon the students, particular the Super Camp. In order to help those academic low achievers, the study suggests the importance of increasing self-esteem before adding pressure regrading their academic performance. Finally, this paper also makes some suggestions upon the activities of raising self-esteem.
