- 作者對藝術教育的對象問題作出探討。他認為，不同對象應有不同的理念和取向。在幼兒和中、小學的層面，如一般認為，是要發展學生的想像力、創作和審美能力，甚至是培養未來藝術消費者的話，老師要具備什麼條件和能力，才可釐訂各級藝術教育目標、內容與教學程序便成為一個重要的問題。作者認為，藝術教育應讓教師建立一套較完整的藝術教育觀點，要對藝術的社會、個人及教育功能作出衡量和評估，使他們能掌握本身教育信念和教學手段，並且有效地詮釋有關方面的課程規劃、編制和美術教育的內容與價值。但就目前的教師藝術教育模式而言，都忽略了這些方面的探討。在大專藝術層面，除了培訓藝術家外，也該培訓藝術工作者，大專生若能在校接受較全面的「藝術」教育，是有助促使文化藝術整體的長遠發展。至於非正規的藝術教育活動，其對象是群眾，因而內容可以較多樣化，但卻可能較表面，因為這種教育方式旨在鼓勵參與和認同，至於深層的教育意義，便要參與者主動從其他途徑發掘。
