- 作者指出,以歐幾里得(Euclid)的名著《原本》(Elements)為藍本的幾何課程著重推理的嚴謹性,幾何定理及幾何作圖方法一併發展,而且要求學生對每個概念有深入的認識。這種被認為是過時的課程取向,已不在香港出現。然而,目前中學數學課程的平面幾何部份,仍殘留一些歐家店的影子。到底現行的課程設計及一般課本的編寫,勾劃出的是一輻怎樣的幾何學習圖畫?作者乃嘗試基於課堂剪影一則,就現行幾何課程在幾何感的培養、推理能力的發展、及幾何概念灌輸作出簡短的分析。
