- The author points out that school-based curriculum development (SCBD) can be considered a range of activities from a grand scale of a whole curriculum renewal to a very small scale one, such as bringing in outside materials to supplement for the shortcomings of the textbook. The author then argues that SCBD can help teachers in classroom teaching and that, if it is effectively done, it can become a process of teacher development within schools.
