- 作者認為香港學生語文水平下降，全因沒有抓住語文訓練。他檢討了香港課程及教學的問題後提議：一、編寫「以訓練為體系」的語文課本，把語文訓練的項目、要點、標準、步驟確定下來；二、語文學習分聽、說、讀、寫四個過程，不宜偏廢；三、加強閱讀訓練；四、寫作要重視實用文教學；五、必須切實執行思維訓練；六、推動學生主動學習。（鄭佩芳整理）
