- 作者指出，每當人們討論數學教育，總愛把焦點集中在中學階段。在過去10年，這種局部的觀點並未為數學教育帶來令人驚喜的突破。相反地，過份集中資源的分配，已令數學教育整體出現失衡現象。10年來的數學教育改革，也只是在兜兜轉轉中渡過。為了打破這個悶局，作者乃在此論文提出小學數學教育的一些問題，並試圖從課程及從業員兩個方向作出分析。
