Review of technology education in Western countries in this paper suggests five "basic objectives of school technology" in Hong Kong schools. The author argues that there should be more emphasis on the learning of technology in the General Studies curriculum for primary school pupils.

The author argues in this paper that, in order to develop young people ability to make informed decisions and prepare them for the challenge of the changing world, it is necessary to place science-technology-society as a central theme of science education in primary schools.
