- 作者指出，課外閱讀和讀文教學相輔相成，而且能影響學生心智的成長，故教師有責任指導學生作課外閱讀，教育行政者應把編選課外讀物列入語文教材建設的規劃中，出版界應為中學生多出版能擴大視野、增長知識、提高文化修養、陶冶高尚情操的書籍和編寫普及而有趣的各門各科最新知識的小書或報刊。（鄭佩芳整理）
