- 作者就有論者以為漢語詞匯貧乏而提出自己的看法。作者認為在語言比較的工作中，必須對有語言的特性有充分的掌握和了解，某一種語言是為使用該語言的社群服務的，不宜用為另一社群服務的語言加以衡量；然而漢語和其他一切有生命的語言一樣，會因應人類生活所需而發展和更新，否則便會出現詞匯貧乏而不能適應現代社會的需要了。（馮吳淑瑩整理）
